A New Year

Summer is just around the corner now.

Kinda cool, that full moon on New Years Eve, and the blue moon to boot. Two full moons in December of 2009. I thought I was going to have a fire outside in the fire pit last night in honor of that full moon. I managed to look at it, and look at the light cast over the land on the snow. That reflection made the night seem like daytime. It was beautiful.

For some, the new calendar year means a celebration. Out to party or revel with friends at one or the others home. My youngest daughter went to a party at a friend's house. the eldest went to a hockey game with her husband. We stayed home and had the Grand kids overnight. The two little ones went o sleep about 10:00 p.m. I made it to eleven. I won't know if Mrs. Spadoman and the other two stayed up to see the ball drop.

No matter if you recognize it or not, it is a new year on the calendar. Many have sent greetings of a happy and prosperous new year. I send that greeting to you all as well. And I add that your days be good for you and all you hold dear, not just for now, but for eternity.

Happy New Year and Peace and Love to all.

Oh, are we saying. "Twenty ten"?
Or is it "Two Thousand ten"?

What are you calling it? And why?

More Peace throughout the land.

Hey Spadoman... Thanks for stopping by Ragebot and 'Feliz Año Nuevo!' to you and the Mrs.

Stop by this afternoon, and you can get a look at the wild way Ecuadorans celebrate the New Year.

I never figured out what to call the last decade other than a mess. In retrospect it appears to me that we were at least approaching some maturity as a country in the 90's and the slipped back to infancy. Maybe the teens will be a bit better. I hope so for all our sakes.

I'm glad we met on 2009. Happy 2010 to you and your family, Spadoman.

I don't know what to call the baby years of the last decade, either. For me personally, 2000 to 2006 or so were years of intense transitions for everyone close to me. I hope to go into the teens with more inner stability and a greater purpose for my work as a teacher.

Peace and love to you and yours in the new year, Joe.

I love the photo of the children lined up by height, in the water. That was a tease, as summer feels way far away!

I'm calling it twenty ten because it flows easier.

We had *zero chance* of seeing that New Year's blue moon because our weather forecast for the day was listed as "downpour".

We were beginning to develop a little lake in our driveway, so I took out the giant rake & pulled the leaves out so we don't need a canoe to get out of our driveway!!! Woo Hoo!
How freaking exciting is THAT???

The husband & I both have colds so we went out for some Thai food to help clear our sinuses & give ourselves a break from cooking & cleaning.

We did manage to step out under the eves to literally ring in the New Year.... with a Tibetan Bell & Native drum. Lit some candles & burned incense, using ancient rituals to usher in a new year & decade.

No rockin' new year's eve blowout here.

I'm trying to take a little break from the political grind, and look at life in other ways.

We got word today, the husband's Step Mom wound up in the hospital with Atrial fib & pneumonia. She'd been having heart pain & had an appointment to see her Doc on Monday.

I am not a huge sports fan, but our local team was in the Rosebowl today. Something about Bowl games, they seem to get their duck butts kicked. They lost. Oh well... we just needed a low key thing to chill out with.

We heard from both the kids today.... and life goes on.

I almost feel like we are bracing ourselves for what lies ahead.

Whoa.

Twenty Ten.
*laughing* Of course I didn't recognize there was an option....it's been two thousand and ten. Me and my stucked way of looking at things, huh?

I now have a new choice tossed in there....whatever shall I do?! (more brain fodder!) LOLOL

Summer, huh?
Yeah. BOY did I need that vision of summer you posted here.
I'm reveling in Halloween being 301 days close! :-) Mostly cuz I'm not wanting to deal in today....here....now....
*laughing* Go figure!

But the thought of Summer is appealing with the -24 windchill we have goin' on this morning.
No firepit for us--though I did stand at the window and ohhh-ed and ahhhh-ed at the rising full orange moon.
OH my it was gorgeous..... Last night as well.
It made dishes from baby in tow very easy to do with that view.

Glorious wishes for the new year that we have unfolding.

Twenty ten.

Wow...*laughing*
I'll be toying with that decision all morning yaknow!!
