Dia De Bloglandia 2011

The Ofrenda at the Spadoman household, 2011

My dear friends. Here are a few photos I took of our Altar. We cancelled our celebration tonight because of my illness, but the spirits are here and enjoying themselves. I am so sorry that I don't have the energy to give this event the attentionn it deserves.

Just for the record, I lit a candle this morning--it's been burning all day.

Thinking of you and yours--and of you. Cuz.......matters to this one!

Beautiful, happy ofrenda--I'm sure the spirits are having a grand time of it!

Beautiful ofrenda Spadoman and it's appreciated that even sick as you are, your're able to honor your loved ones as you are doing and providing us all with your heartfelt work. It's there to be enjoyed. Thank you for sharing. I hope you feel well soon.

Mr. Spadoman. Please, oh please, get well soon. Your altar is absolutely stunning, as I knew it would be, but I'm glad you are resting given the diagnosis you wrote about earlier. You can celebrate when you are feeling better.

dear joe,

last year stephanie was so touched when i shared your maggie photo and we placed her on the altar together in san miguel. this year i am honored to co-host her dia de bloglandia event.
i thought spending sundays in october as the "art of remembering" would help endear the idea of dia de los muertos and most importantly encourage the chance to share our favorite remembrances of those we love now gone. thank you joe for embracing these sundays and for being here, hopefully resting, sharing your heart for this celebration of love.
you have my heart and my prayers.

I am amazed at your altar. It is so beautiful and full of loving thoughts - I really had no idea this was done. If our passed loved ones are closer on this day more than others, then yours are grinning and very pleased. Mine, not so much.

Maggie is beautiful.

Peace and love back to you.

I noticed right away the picture of my friend on your beautiful altar. That was so kind of you to remember during this time when you are so ill yourself.

I will be keeping you in my prayers.
