Shadow Shot Sunday, May 16, 2010

This weeks Shadow Shot is simply these creases on the mountainside. To me, this could be a T-shirt tossed at the foot of the washing machine and the folds naturally falling where they may. I'm not sure of the name of this particular place, but it is found a few miles North of Truth Or Consequences, New Mexico off a local gravel road.

If you'd like to view more Shadow Shots, go seeHey Harriet blog. Tracy started this fine meme. HERE are the guidelines for participation.

Peace to All

It's a good day--any day that I land in a place to see familiar, adored sights....it's a good day.

We definitely need a 'get in the car and GO' adventure to that neck of the woods.
Wonderful shot, btw.
Somehow it's hard to get a 'bad shot' when you're in that area.

What is it about the lure of the desert...raw beauty in it's struggle to sustain life, yet so full of life. The Sand Dunes National Park and the Anasazi ruins were always a fave drive for me when we lived in Colorado back in the 70's, been many years ago, but would love to visit again...some day...!

Magical, shadowy folds! There is a feeling of serene sanctuary, where the only dialogue are the whispers of the mind!

I never tire of seeing the shadowy folds of mountains. There's something simple and majestic about the way they show you the form beneath.
Thank you : )

What a marvelous capture! I love the shadowy folds, the sense of mystery, of timelessness. That is a beautiful part of the world and I always loved the trips I've made there although it's been some time since the last one. Great post for the day! Enjoy your day!

We do have a few mountains in our state that simply captivates such as this one! That looks like it's not too far from the space port?
It's as though someone or something caused that mountain to reticulate...
